NBA CheatCode user guide

Everything the stat analyzer does, and how to get the most out of each tool.

Getting started

  1. Create an account with your email, Google or Apple — this starts your 14-day free trial. Nothing is charged for 14 days; cancel before it ends and you won't be billed.
  2. Open the app. It lands on Upcoming games: today's slate, pre-ranked by its best player match-ups.
  3. Every tab has a "What's this?" button in the app if you need a quick refresher on what it does.
  4. In a rush? The free Play of the Day on the login page gives you one fresh AI pick every morning — no account needed.

Upcoming games

The next games on the schedule with the best player matchups built in. This is where the app opens each day.

  1. Open the app each morning — the current slate appears as game cards, each highlighting the game's softest defense-vs-position spots.
  2. Read the AI verdict on each card: the players to target and why, powered by our own AI NBA Analysis Agent.
  3. The tips the engine is most confident in come pre-starred — the pick recap ('How our picks went', starred tips only) grades only those pre-starred tips.
  4. Click a card for the full defense-vs-position breakdown for both teams.

After the games finish, open the pick recap to see how the app's pre-starred tips graded against the actual results.

Player vs absence

Pick one player and up to four absent teammates — see how he produced in every game ALL of them missed, compared to his usual numbers.

  1. Search for the player you want to analyze.
  2. Mark up to four absent teammates. Any missed game counts — injury, rest or suspension.
  3. Choose the season and the sample window that drives the comparison.
  4. Run the analysis and read the per-stat results: boosts are shown in stat units first, with percentages as supporting background.

Red values mean the player produced less with those teammates out; green means more. Use the biggest green gaps as your targets.

Player projection

Project any player's stat line for a game. The math always runs in the same order: absence adjustments first, then defense vs position, then minutes.

  1. Pick the player, the position he'll play, his opponent and his expected minutes.
  2. Choose the sample window — a full season, or the last 7, 14 or 30 days. It drives both the absence history and the defense grade.
  3. Add any absent teammates so his historical absence boosts are applied.
  4. Read the projection: his window averages get the absence adjustment, then each stat is scaled by the opponent's defense vs his position, and prorated to his minutes.

The data-source note under the results names the exact sample window you selected, so you always know what's behind the numbers.

Team trends

Pick the player(s) who were missing for a team — see which teammates produced more (or less) in the games they sat out, plus the full list of missed games.

  1. Choose the team's missing player(s).
  2. Run the analysis to see every teammate's production swing in the games they sat.
  3. Open the missed-games list to see the exact dates and scores involved.

Usage leaders links here too — one click on a player jumps straight into a team trends analysis for him.

Usage leaders

Season-long usage leaders — the players handling the ball the most.

  1. Scan the leaderboard to spot high-usage players on tonight's slate.
  2. Click any player to jump straight into a team trends analysis for them.

High usage plus a soft defense-vs-position grade is the fastest signal the app gives you.

Defense vs position

How every NBA defense performs against each position — points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks and threes allowed per 48 minutes.

  1. Choose a position and a stat category.
  2. Sort the table to find the softest defenses to target and the toughest to avoid.
  3. Use the insights panel for the sharpest standout spots across the league.

Field-goal percentage, free-throw percentage and turnovers are deliberately excluded — the stats that move pick outcomes are the ones tracked.

Targeted team summary

Simulate a player-out scenario against an upcoming opponent and get an instant AI report on which teammates benefit most.

  1. Choose the absent player(s) and the upcoming opponent.
  2. Run the summary and read the AI beneficiary report — the top beneficiaries are ranked with the size of their boost.
  3. Cross-check the biggest beneficiaries in the Player projection tab before acting.

The report is powered by our own AI NBA Analysis Agent and reads like a scout's brief, not a spreadsheet.

Tracking our picks

The pick recap ("How our picks went", starred tips only) grades the app's pre-starred tips in Upcoming games against the actual results. The engine stars only its highest-confidence picks — the recap is a scorecard of those best calls, not of everything it suggested.

Glossary

Absence
Any game a player missed — injury, rest or suspension. The app treats them all the same: what matters is who else was on the floor.
DvP (Defense vs position)
How a defense performs against a single position, measured in stats allowed per 48 minutes. Higher ranks mean softer defense.
Sample window
The history range behind a calculation: a full season, or the last 7, 14 or 30 days. One window drives both absence boosts and DvP grades.
Boost
How much a stat rises during specific absences, measured in units (e.g. +4.2 points), with the percentage increase as background.
Starred tips
The tips the engine pre-stars in Upcoming games — its highest-confidence picks. The pick recap grades only these, so it tracks the app's best calls.
Play of the Day
A free AI pick published fresh every morning, visible on the login page without an account.
